EXPLANATION:
Depending on the length of the rope, the impulse we give it, and the arrangement of the knots in the pendulum, different curves will be obtained, which are known as Lissaious figures.
This experiment explains the pendulum movement which is a displacement movement represented by some physical systems applying simple harmonic motion. It is the movement that results from an object subject to a fixed base that, by applying an impulse, makes it move from one side to another repeatedly until it stops the friction.
It depends on:
. the length of the pendulum, length of the rope
. the oscillation between extreme positions
. the time period of an oscillation
. the amplitude or angle that form the vertical with the thread in an extreme position of the pendulum
